| Herts Baseball Club was founded in 1996 and over the years has become one of the largest baseball organisations in the country. The club is a member of the British Baseball Federation. The Herts adult programme includes four teams, which play in the four British baseball leagues. The Herts Falcons, which is the club’s first team, competes in the National Baseball League (NBL) which is Britain’s top baseball league. The Falcons were promoted to the NBL in 2009, after becoming AAA British National Champions in 2008. Our four adult teams – the Falcons, Eagles, Hawks and Raptors – are truly international, with players originating from as far as Japan, the United States, Germany, South Africa, China, Australia, Canada, Poland, Venezuela, Bulgaria and Serbia to add to the strong nucleus of British players. The club also runs one of the largest and most successful youth programmes in the UK. It is known as the Herts Little League and offers baseball to boys and girls aged between 6 and 16. The club’s Under-14 All-Star team became Great Britain’s Under-14 National Champion in 2010.
Past and present players of the club have been frequently selected by the various Great Britain National Teams and we hope one of our Herts Little Leaguers will one day play on the world stage in MLB. The Club is based at Grovehill Ballpark in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. It has made substantial investments into the improvement and expansion of the Ballpark and baseball facilities with support from the National Lottery and many other organisations and partners. Over the last few seasons Grovehill Ballpark has been selected as the venue for the National Baseball Championships which is Great Britain’s equivalent of MLB’s World Series. The club also hosts Great Britain National Team events, regional and national events such as the Herts Baseball Little League, the Herts Spring League, the Herts Futures Tournament, the Hunlock Series, and others. The club welcomes men and women, boys and girls regardless of whether they have had previous baseball experience. We offer baseball opportunities for all. |
