Baseball Assistant Coach (Promotional School Sessions – London NW)

 

Location

Schools located in North West London around 5-mile radius of West Hendon Playing Fields

 

Financial terms

Between £105 and £170 depending on the number of sessions and the coach’s level of coaching experience and qualifications, if applicable.

 

Employment status

Self-employed status in accordance with HMRC guidelines. Self-employed individuals are responsible for calculating and paying their own tax and NICs on any payments made to them.

 

Time commitment

15 sessions. Each session lasting 1hour. Sessions take place on a weekday during school hours (9:00am to 4:00pm). The sessions are expected to take place in selected schools over an intensive 1 or 2-week schedule in April and/or May. If the coach is unable to cover all of the scheduled sessions, the above financial terms will be adjusted to reflect this.

 

Project description

Herts Baseball Club is looking to promote the club and the game of baseball in local schools.

 

This particular project will involve work with boys and girls, predominantly aged 10 to 18.

 

The objective of these sessions is to give students a taste of baseball and invite them to sign up and play on a regular basis with Herts in regional and national league competitions.

 

Responsibilities

·         Plan and run fun, safe, effective and enjoyable training sessions.

·         Encourage participation.

·         Manage the use of team and field equipment

·         Promote the game and the club

·         Good communication skills.

·         Reliability and responsibility.

·         Enthusiasm

·         Good management and organisational skills.

·         Friendliness and approachability.

 

Qualifications required

·         Candidates with previous experience as a baseball coach will be given priority but all applicants will be considered regardless of the level of their coaching experience.

·         This project involves work with children and the successful candidate must carry out a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (previously CRB-check). If you don’t have an up-to-date DBS certificate, we can assist with the DBS-check process, free of charge.
