Herts Spring League Commissioner

 

Location

Administrative duties can be carried out from home. Games to be played at Grovehill Ballpark, Hemel Hempstead.

 

Financial terms

£50 per season

 

(Note: If the candidate is also performing Board duties, the fee shown here will not be paid.  Instead a membership fee rebate system is applied to reflect the loss of the person’s ability to enjoy the full benefits of their membership fee as a result of taking on this role. Employment status

Self-employed status in accordance with HMRC guidelines. Self-employed individuals are responsible for calculating and paying their own tax and NICs on any payments made to them.

 

Time commitment

HSL planning and entry process begins in December. The HSL event is played over 3 weekends (both Saturdays and Sundays) in March and April. Game days begin at around 10am and end at around 6pm or 7pm.

 

Project description

Herts Baseball Club is the organiser of the HSL a pre-season competition for teams from around the UK.

 

It is a competition which is organised and hosted by the club at a high standard and has established a good reputation consistently filling all available team slots.

 

Responsibilities

·         Oversee all aspects of the HSL

·         Delegate tasks where required

·         Prepare the event invitation pack for teams and umpires.

·         Issue the HSL schedule, rules and regulations, game day pack

·         Plan and co-ordinate with teams, umpires, field maintenance and other event staff.

·         Work together with the club’s media department to promote and publicise this events

·         Communicate event and other details to teams and umpires

·         Maintain record of scores and standings

·         Maintain the HSL website

·         Ensure that field maintenance procedures are followed before, during and after each event

·         Open and close the venue for every event or delegate this task to another member of staff

·         Co-ordinate financial aspects with Treasurer
