Membership types to fit everyone

Herts Baseball offers a clear and flexible pathway into the sport, welcoming players of all experience levels — from complete beginners picking up a bat for the first time to experienced athletes ready to compete in league baseball. Whether you’re looking to try something new, train regularly in a supportive environment, or represent the club in competitive fixtures, our membership options allow you to choose the level of involvement that suits your goals, availability and ambitions while becoming part of a friendly and inclusive baseball community.

Beginners sessions

Our Beginner Membership is designed for anyone curious about baseball and wanting to give it a try in a relaxed, supportive environment. Whether you’ve never picked up a bat before or are returning to sport after time away, this option allows you to learn the fundamentals at your own pace alongside experienced coaches and friendly teammates. It’s the perfect way to experience training sessions, develop confidence and discover whether baseball is the right fit for you before committing further.

Non Roster

Non-Roster Membership is ideal for players who want to train regularly and be part of the club without committing to league competition. Members can attend practices, develop their skills and take part in internal scrimmages and practice games throughout the season. This option suits players balancing other commitments, returning from injury, or simply looking to enjoy baseball socially while remaining connected to the team environment.

Squad member

Squad Player Membership is for those ready to fully commit to competitive baseball. Squad players train regularly, represent Herts in league fixtures and contribute to the team both on and off the field throughout the season. With structured coaching, competitive opportunities and a strong team culture, this membership supports players looking to develop their performance while competing as part of one of the UK’s most active baseball programmes.

Heres a few of our most frequently asked questions

Do I need any experience to join?

Not at all.

Most of our new players have never picked up a baseball before. We’ll teach you everything from the basics—throwing, catching, hitting, and understanding the game—at a pace that works for you.

What equipment do I need?

To get started, just bring yourself and suitable sportswear.

We provide all the essential equipment (bats, balls, helmets). Over time, we recommend getting your own glove, but we can help you choose the right one when you’re ready

What actually happens at a session?

Sessions are structured but relaxed.

You’ll warm up, learn key skills (like throwing and batting), and take part in simple drills and small game situations. There’s no pressure—just a supportive environment to learn and improve.

Am I fit enough to play baseball?

Yes. Baseball is for all fitness levels.

You don’t need to be super fit to start. The game includes a mix of activity and rest, and you’ll naturally build fitness as you go. You can progress at your own pace.
